The Hexagon License Manager™ for Salesforce© is a developer kit for Salesforce©.

This developer kit provides capability for managed packages to handle licenses without any external web service or remote site access. License properties are stored in a 32-char log license key, which is protected with AES 128 encryption.

It is a great solution to sell packages outside of the AppExchange.

The package publisher can create 3 types of license keys with the developer kit:

• Type A: Perpetual. The feature will be enabled for all of the users without time limitation in a specified Salesforce organization.
• Type B: Subscription. The feature will be enabled for all of the users with time limitations in a specified Salesforce organization.
• Type C: Trial. The feature will be enabled for all of the users with time limitations regardless of the Salesforce organization.
• Other types can be created by unique requirements.

End users need to enter the license key into the org (by creating a custom metadata record).

License keys can be replaced at any time, e.g., after one year, the end user purchasing an other year of subscription license.

The Hexagon License Manager can be configured to use your package without limitation in test-, scratch-, trailhead-, or developer edition organizations.
